Question 1

Is this another freelance marketplace?

Accepted Answer

Not quite. The Outsource Studio is a curated network built specifically for the built environment. Studios and Creatives are matched by a Project Manager, never through open bidding or public listings.

Question 2

How is this different from a general freelance marketplace?

Accepted Answer

On a general freelance marketplace, you're one listing among thousands, competing on price, and chasing your own invoices. On The Outsource Studio, you're introduced to studios by a Project Manager who already knows your discipline; you set your rate and keep it in full, and you're paid by The Outsource Studio itself, not by the Studio.

Question 3

Who can apply?

Accepted Answer

Independent specialists across architecture, interior design, CGI, CAD, BIM, FF&E, and related built environment disciplines, with real industry experience.

Question 4

How does The Outsource Studio decide who gets matched?

Accepted Answer

Every Creative goes through a review of their industry experience and project history, followed by a video call with our team, before joining. Once you're in the network, your Project Manager proposes projects suited to your discipline and experience.

Question 5

Do I set my own rate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You set your rate and keep it in full. The Outsource Studio's fee is built into the price quoted to the studio.

Question 6

How and when do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

You contract with The Outsource Studio and are paid by us, not by the Studio.

Question 7

Is there a cost to apply?

Accepted Answer

No. Applying, getting vetted, and joining the network cost nothing, and they stay that way. The Outsource Studio doesn't charge Creatives now, and won't introduce a charge later. That's a permanent commitment, not just how things work today.

Question 8

Is my information kept confidential?

Accepted Answer

Your profile isn't listed publicly. Your Project Manager proposes you directly and privately to matched studios, so only the studios you're proposed to ever see your details.

Question 9

Can I work with studios outside my own country?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Outsource Studio is a global network, and every match happens remotely, so working with a studio outside your own country is the default, not the exception.
